A World Bound To It'S Reader.

Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, a novel and manhwa by SingnSong, has been the story of my life. It is one of my goals to completely encompass and convey both it’s meaning and why I am attracted so greatly towards it. Here is a reworked explanation of it’s setting which I wrote in 11th Grade (2 years ago).

“My name is Dokja ” Dokja is a korean word which stands for ‘Reader’ or ‘Lone Child’. The story has it’s focus nailed on Dokja and his relationship with the world of a book, ‘Three Ways to Survive an Apocalypse’(TWSA).

The world of TWSA is one which entails on the relationship between the readers of a story and the storytellers. The world maintains ‘probability’ by having the ‘ Reader ’ never directly interact with the story, but has a connection through a sort of barrier. Their will is satisfied by the storytellers known as the dokkaebies who composite scenarios for the characters of this play to go through. These scenarios are like chapters, they slowly reveal the context of the world these characters are introduced to, slowly challenge the bonds that have been formed. The scenarios are heavily revolved around the experience of grief and loss, perhaps to resonate with the ‘ Reader ’.

Our story starts with earth being taken over by the ‘ Star Stream ’. Where the world must now play through the scenarios. The newly introduced characters have only one initial purpose. To survive the horror-ridden world they have been served. But, the dokkaebies are masterful tellers. They slowly mold the characters through the environment and hardships that there begins to sprout a change. A wish.

A wish for to ascend beyond mortal dreams. Maybe it’s the despair or their newly acquired madness, but they start longing for closure to their own story. A closure to their role as a character of this play. An end which engraves their mark right on the fourth wall. To make the audience known of their existence. And perhaps to cross beyond it.

The people who wish for such endeavours are called the constellations. They have acquired enough context through their built up stories that they can start their entourage towards the end of scenarios. It is only a very little few who then again persevere and are qualified to see the last scenario and challenge the fourth wall.

The Role of Dokja.

Dokja is the sole reader of TWSA. The only one who saw through it’s end. He is much like the constellations of that world. The ones who have a hunger to find the ■■ to their story. Every character in ORV/TWSA has their own ■■, which defines their role to the Start Stream.

Dokja’s world is now a part of the Star Stream. This is the beginning of not TWSA, but ORV. Dokja like many others now goes through the scenarios. Surviving and creating the world he wanted to see with the companions he wanted to be with all his life. Now he treads through the scenarios to find the epilogue to the story of his life ‘Three Ways to Survive an Apocalypse’. Throughout his journey he amasses great context, yet somehow can never hold ground to his existence. Both literally and in thought. Yet, almost like the world had been waiting on his arrival, his stories begin to tie in with the world. The Star Stream insists his story continue. His story becomes on with it and creates the ‘One Single Story’. To compose all of star stream and provide with it’s will, to it’s reader, a closure.

Known as the ‘Epilogue’.

However.

The world of TWSA is one of grief and loss. When Dokja crossed to the last scenario. He encountered the last wall separating the World from the ‘Reader’.

But, Who was the reader to the world of TWSA?

Who dreamed this world up?

Dokja’s ■■ was Epilogue & Eternity.
